The Opportunity

TCS is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer for the Network Security Services – Network Defense team. This position is responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining cybersecurity tools to defend the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) networks. Duties include designing, procuring, implementing, operating, sustaining, and disposing of IT security solutions on multiple networks, at multiple locations worldwide, in support of the NGA GEOINT mission.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and deliver task or project-based defensive cybersecurity solutions for on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain network security tools, ensuring software installations, updates, core services, and applied configurations are functioning within design specifications.
  • Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams, inventories, and licensing status for the various capabilities within the scope of the team.
  • Provide written reports and oral briefings to contract and government leadership.
  • Coordinate issues with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure task completeness and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate and report on new/emerging network security technologies to enhance capacity, performance and reliability of the networks.
  • Evaluate and recommend configuration changes and technology upgrades to address performance, standardization, and align industry best practices.
  • Apply a solid understanding of networking protocols and utilize network troubleshooting tools (tcpdump, traceroute, netstat, nslookup, etc.) to diagnose and resolve issues.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
  • DOD 8570 IAT II certification (Security+, CySA+, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD 8570 CSSP Infrastructure Support certification (CEH, CySA+, etc.)
  • Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction or guidance.

Desired:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of implementation and management of NDR and IDS/IPS platforms (VectraAI, Extrahop, Darktrace, Corelight, Cisco Firepower, Trellix NX, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of implementation and management of packet broker/network visibility platforms (Gigamon, Ixia, Garland, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of implementation and management of packet capture platforms (NetWitness, Axellio, Endace, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of implementation and management of email security platforms (Trellix EX, Cisco Secure Email Gateway, Ironport, Proofpoint, Abnormal, etc.)
  • Expertise in Linux system administration, including scripting and system automation.
  • Expertise in configuring system logging, analyzing logs for troubleshooting, and implementing secure networking services.
  • Familiarity with DoW PKI, Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory, and Authentication (SAML, OAuth).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years related technical experience to network security technologies, tools, and techniques.
  • 5+ years experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks.
  • Understanding of DoW, DISA, and IC standards and processes.
  • Understanding of DoW network architecture.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200-$158,100
