ABOUT THE ROLE

At ERC, we're developing next-generation eVTOL aircraft and turning ambitious concepts into real flying prototypes and products. As Chief Engineer Support, you support our Chief Engineer function in the technical coordination, evaluation and preparation of engineering topics across our eVTOL programmes.

Working closely with the Chief Engineer and engineering teams, you research, structure and analyse technical information, prepare first-level assessments and help turn complex engineering inputs into clear decision material.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Research and consolidate technical data, technologies, suppliers, regulations, certification topics, benchmarks and competitor information
  • Prepare first-level technical assessments, comparisons and trade studies based on defined questions and available data
  • Consolidate aircraft-level technical data and engineering status across disciplines, including mass, performance, loads, interfaces and systems
  • Support technical and cost evaluation of prototypes, demonstrators and test articles, including supplier inputs, make-or-buy assessments and cost tracking
  • Prepare and update technical presentations, review material, charts and decision-support slides based on engineering inputs and Chief Engineer guidance
  • Maintain technical data, trackers, working files and documentation of actions, issues and decisions, and follow up required inputs across teams
  • Support ad-hoc technical analyses and engineering coordination, and flag missing, inconsistent or outdated information

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management or a related technical field
  • Broad technical understanding and the ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new engineering, regulatory and certification topics
  • Strong interest in aircraft development and multidisciplinary engineering
  • A structured, reliable and detail-oriented way of working
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to independently research, structure and summarise technical topics
  • A proactive, confident approach to following up across different engineering teams
  • Good English skills

Moreover, it would be helpful if you also:

  • speak German
  • have experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Python, MATLAB or requirements-management tools

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Full-scale aerospace engineering, not concept slides
  • A 60+ engineer team at Ottobrunn
  • Real ownership and flat hierarchies: a modern startup culture where your input shapes decisions, not just execution
  • Flexible working hours, remote work, and competitive compensation
  • Health & wellbeing: EGYM Wellpass membership and subsidized lunch in our canteen
  • Office extras: espresso coffee, fresh fruit, and soft drinks, plus regular team and company events, and plenty more once you're on board
