The Wallet, Payments & Commerce team is responsible for bringing ground-breaking financial services to consumers with a vision to replace the physical wallet and help people live financially healthier lives. Apple Pay enables an easy, secure, and private way to pay online. We’re looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join the Apple Pay E-Commerce team. This is a full-time role within the Wallet, Payments, and Commerce team, based in our Tokyo office. Some international/domestic travel may be required.

You will use your technical knowledge and partner-facing skills to support business development teams in driving the integration of Apple Pay E-Commerce functionality in payment service provider and merchant E-Commerce channels. You will work hands-on with a variety of ecosystem partners — including PSPs, E-Commerce platforms, third-party payment processors, and technology service providers — to resolve integration issues, enable new capabilities, and maintain strong technical relationships that directly impact business outcomes. You will lead multiple projects, craft scalable solutions for diverse partners, and provide consistent updates and communication to business leaders. You will inspire partners to create best-in-class Apple Pay and Wallet experiences, support partner technology implementations and new feature adoption, and provide technology guidance and product implementation best practices. You will optimize the customer payment journey in merchant and payment service provider E-Commerce channels.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in web development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) / iOS development (Swift). Working with online merchant segments, PSPs, payment schemes, and processors. Experience debugging and troubleshooting software. Skilled at helping partners identify, navigate, and overcome technical hurdles to drive adoption of technology. Experience integrating, supporting, and troubleshooting a complex suite of products and/or services. Ability to explain technical concepts and issues to a broad audience. Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance. Passion for outstanding user experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Fluency in English and Japanese.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Apple Pay JS, Payment Request API (W3C), and in-app payment SDKs. Proven track record of building large and complex partnerships in Japan. Ability to handle directional changes and prioritize a portfolio of initiatives to ensure project success and drive impact. Willingness to learn new technologies and keen interest in the payment space and its developments. Self-starter and results-oriented, with a proven track record of building lasting relationships. Collaborative team player with a proven track record of driving initiatives both within and across functions. Fluency in Korean is a plus.
