As a Resident Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of HDR's Architectural and Engineering Construction Administration services for a major data centre project within the EU. More specifically leadership of construction phase coordination, commissioning support, and stakeholder management for Phase 1 of a hyperscale Data Centre Campus in Helsinki, Finland. Acting as HDR's primary site-based representative, the successful candidate will coordinate between the client, general contractor, subcontractors, utilities, commissioning teams, and design consultants to ensure successful delivery, testing, and handover of a complex mission-critical facility.

This role combines construction management, technical coordination, quality assurance, commissioning support, and client-facing leadership within a fast-paced data centre environment.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Administration & Technical Coordination

  • Act as HDR's lead onsite representative.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and project teams.
  • Manage RFIs, technical queries, submittals, and design changes.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical and coordination issues.
  • Maintain drawing registers, document control, and construction records.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design intent and specifications.
  • Monitor quality of installation and contractor performance.
  • Resolve design-related construction issues.

Commissioning & Handover

  • Support commissioning activities through IST and final handover.
  • Coordinate design team involvement during testing and commissioning.
  • Review O&M manuals, as-built documentation, and record drawings.
  • Ensure all design changes are incorporated into final project documentation.
  • Manage utility provider interfaces and infrastructure connections.
  • Coordinate consultants, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders.
  • Resolve multidisciplinary interface and coordination challenges.

Technical Experience

  • Data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, healthcare, or other highly MEP-intensive projects.
  • Strong understanding of: Electrical, mechanical, BMS/BAS, EPMS, Telecommunications and Security systems
  • Experience managing: RFIs, Technical submittals, Design change processes, Contractor coordination, Commissioning and integrated systems testing experience, coordinating multiple contractors and consultants.
  • Strong meeting management and reporting capability.
  • Experience monitoring third-party consultants/subconsultants.
  • Client-facing experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, Construction Management, Building Services, Architecture, Surveying, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years total experience.
  • Minimum 3 years project management experience.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward chartership preferred.
  • CSCS card or local equivalent.
