Business & Process Excellence

As a Senior Business Analyst you will be responsible for providing analytic expertise to support key strategic and operational initiatives for Popular Bank. You will gather, organize, validate, and analyze data to provide actionable insights and recommendations. You will help to foster a data-driven culture with a focus on improving performance and operational efficiencies. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of highly visible projects, partner with multiple stakeholders, and assist junior analysts. This role offers a high degree of latitude and requires proficiency with computer systems, data warehouses, and creative problem solving.

In this position, you will:

Analytics & Modeling

  • Support management, business lines and support functions with in-depth analysis, continually mining data for insights to drive revenues and operational efficiencies
  • Research and identify sources of data, understand data structures, identify gaps & quality issues, and perform validations to ensure a high degree of accuracy in reporting
  • Assist with the rollout of customer profitability models
  • Advanced modeling of business strategies

Marketing Effectiveness

  • Help in the establishment of clear effectiveness KPIs for new and ongoing Marketing campaigns and programs
  • Working with Marketing and other stakeholders, develop methods for ongoing tracking and reporting of these KPIs, tying Marketing efforts to clear business outcomes as well as secondary effectiveness measures

Data Visualization and BI Reporting

  • Prepare visually appealing and actionable presentations for senior management
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather business requirements for BI reporting
  • Assist with the creation of dashboards, notification triggers, and report suites
  • Serve as a data subject matter expert that will field questions, draft documentation, and resolve data integrity issues

Customer Data and CRM

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a centralized customer data repository
  • Assist with gathering requirements, designing, testing, and deploying Salesforce CRM functionality

Vendor Management

  • Support the analytics function’s partnership with vendors to include onboarding & due diligence
  • Facilitate the secure transfer of highly sensitive data between vendors

To be considered, you will need:

  • At least five years of relevant work experience as an analyst, data scientist, market researcher or similar role involving analyzing late datasets and developing actionable insights
  • Proven ability to work independently, playing a key role in strategic projects with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with data visualization & BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects preferred) and the ability to create comprehensible visualizations of complex information
  • Experience working with large datasets & building complex models
  • Experience supporting business partners & stakeholders with large-scale projects, ideally application rollouts & data integrations
  • BA / BS in computer science, statistics, business administration, finance, or mathematics

Base Salary & Benefits

Our base salary for this position located in New York generally ranges between $110,000.00 and $125,000.00 annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.

In addition to salary, Popular's well-rounded benefits package for regular full-time and part-time employees includes a comprehensive health plan, flexible time off options, and savings and investment plans. Seasonal/temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.
