About the Role
Our Data Technologies Group plays a strategic role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. We are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Group Manager to lead our Data Platform, Backend, and Infrastructure engineering teams and drive the evolution of our enterprise-scale data ecosystem.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the data engineering strategy, leading multiple teams, and delivering scalable, reliable, and cost-effective data solutions that support a wide range of business stakeholders.
You will oversee the development and operation of high-scale batch and real-time data pipelines, ingesting and processing data from diverse internal and external sources.
What you'll be doing
- Manage teams of Data Engineers and QA members.
- Take part in strategic decision-making for the Data Group.
- Lead, coach, and support a team of Data Engineers.
- Drive performance, team development, and hiring.
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of development and QA tasks assigned to the teams.
- Develop a strong understanding of both team technologies and business requirements.
- Work with high-scale databases and provide Backend Data solutions from the design phase through development and delivery.
- Work with Data technologies such as Microsoft SSIS, Apache Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, Elasticsearch, Kafka/MSK, Flink, Spark, and more.
- Optimize platform performance, operational efficiency, cloud utilization, and infrastructure costs.
- Establish production monitoring, observability, alerting, and incident management practices to ensure high service reliability.
- Work with various stakeholders and applications across the company.
- Bring proven experience leading Data Engineering managers and engineers in a large-scale, production-oriented environment.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of modern Data Platforms, Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Data Governance, and Data Architecture principles.
- Bring strong experience with cloud-native data technologies and distributed data processing frameworks.
- Have a proven track record of building, scaling, and operating mission-critical data platforms that serve diverse business needs.
- Combine a strategic mindset with hands-on technical depth and strong execution capabilities.
Requirements
What we're looking for:
- At least 3 years of experience leading Data Engineering team(s).
- At least 5 years of experience with ETL development in large-scale DWH environments such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure, etc. Experience with Snowflake is an advantage.
- Experience with Data Backend development technologies such as SSIS, DBT, Airflow, Flink/Spark, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with a programming language such as Python, Java, or a similar language.
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud Services.
- Experience with CI/CD methodology.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IS Engineering, or a related field.
- Highly motivated and independent.
- High level of English proficiency.
