Senior Product Manager

Application Deadline: 13 October 2026

Department: Product

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Riyadh

Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer

Description

Product managers at Malaa are generalists by design. You will not own a single domain; you will work across the whole product, investing, lending, savings and the growth loops that connect them, taking on whatever matters most in a given cycle.

The role is built for the way product work is changing. We are looking for a product manager with a software engineering background who can take a problem from "we should address this" to a working version in days, place it in front of customers, read the results and decide whether to scale it or stop it. You will have engineers and designers, and you will be expected to do the first mile of discovery yourself.

This is a senior position. You set the priorities for the initiatives you carry, you can explain and defend them, and you are accountable for what you commit to.

What you will own?

You will collaborate with a squad of engineers and carry a changing portfolio of initiatives across the product, prioritised each cycle against what the business needs most. Over your first year, the role covers:

•     Outcomes rather than a backlog. You will be measured on results such as deposits into portfolios, activation and conversion between products, retention and the pace at which your squad ships. Each initiative you take on comes with a target, and you will be asked how you intend to reach it.

•     Building to learn. Before a specification, a prototype. You use AI development tools and your own engineering background to build a working version, read our codebase, define the event taxonomy and query the data directly. Engineers receive a running prototype and a clear brief.

•     Simplifying. Each quarter you remove something: a feature with no usage, a flow with unnecessary steps, a setting that should not exist. Shipping less that works well is part of the role.

•     Growing what works. Once a feature has traction, you improve it through experiments, cohort analysis and funnel data until the numbers move.

•     Treating regulation as product work. Compliance, personal data protection, KYC and disclosures are designed into the product from the start. You involve the compliance team early and make regulated flows feel simple to the customer.

•     Managing intake. Requests reach product from across the company. You maintain a single channel and a single ranked list, and you decline in writing with a reason.

How product and engineering work together?

Product and engineering at Malaa operate as one team under a single planning model. Each product manager is paired with a small squad of engineers and its engineering lead, with design shared across squads, and the ratio of product managers to engineers is kept deliberately low. All change, whether customer facing, technical health, reliability or platform, enters the same prioritisation, so a product manager is expected to make the case for engineering health alongside customer outcomes. Execution is coordinated daily within the squad; priorities, capacity and trade offs are settled weekly across squads. Every initiative is documented before it is built, and product managers carry out the technical exploration needed to write complete requirements.

Qualifications:

Required:

•     Three or more years in product management, with real ownership of a live consumer or fintech product and measurable results you can speak to.

•     A software engineering background: a computer science or engineering degree and time spent as an engineer, or an equally strong record of building software yourself. You can read our code and you have built working prototypes with your own hands, with or without AI tools.

•     Fluency with product data. You have defined event tracking, run experiments and made decisions from funnels and cohorts.

•     Professional written and spoken Arabic and English.

Preferred:

•     Experience in a regulated product (banking, investment, lending or insurance) and familiarity with keeping compliance inside the product process.

•     Daily use of AI development and analysis tools, with a working prototype you can show.

•     Experience as the senior product person in a small team, setting the standard for others.

Why join?

You will shape a product that manages real money for a large customer base in one of the fastest growing markets in the world. The team is small, the standard is high and the impact of your decisions is visible in the numbers. If you want to build, ship and see results, this is that seat.
