Role: System Build Line Support Engineer (SILS)
Department: EF Manufacturing – System Build Location: Veldhoven Shift: 2-shift schedule (Early: 06:30–15:30, Late: 15:00–24:00, 1 weekend-shift out of 4)
Mission
Provide first-line technical support to the NXE System Build team (Scanner) to resolve production issues quickly, reduce disturbances, and enable structural improvements. Contribute to factory output and support new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Solve ~80% of progress issues during system integration; minimize production delays.
- Continuous Improvement: Execute operational and structural improvements to reduce complaints and enhance quality.
- Competence Development: Train and build expertise within the work center.
- NPI Support: Share manufacturing know-how for smooth introduction of new products.
- Knowledge Transfer: Actively transfer hands-on knowledge to volume production or train operator team via Knowledge Transfers and or personal feedback.
- Problem Analysis: Identify structural issues, propose solutions, and monitor implementation.
- Planning & Prioritization: Analyze problems, set priorities, and manage recovery sequences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with System Integration MO, PE, MQ, D&E, and other internal teams.
Required Experience
- Hands-on technical production experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills (root cause analysis, solution implementation).
- Knowledge of quality improvement methods and production processes.
- Ability to guide less experienced assemblers and coordinate technical activities.
Education
- MBO++ / HBO+ in physics, optics, electronics, mechatronics, process technology, or related fields.
Personal Skills
- Proactive, analytical, and structured.
- Service-minded, strong communicator, and team player.
- Stress-resistant, able to multitask, and think creatively.
- Willing to take the stage. Hoist meetings and or be the chairman.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) for production planning and material handling.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools for troubleshooting and quality improvement.
- Ability to work with technical documentation systems and digital workflows.
- Basic understanding of networked systems and software tools used in manufacturing environments.
Context
Reports to Team Leader System Build Scanner. Interfaces with multiple internal stakeholders. Focus on disturbances, improvements, and output.
