Full description

At Svea Solar, we have a clear vision - to fix the planet. As Sweden’s and one of Europe’s leading players in energy technology, we are driving the energy transition with solar power and smart energy solutions. ⚡

We’re now expanding our team with a Staff Fullstack Engineer (Django). Are you ready to join the Power Shift?

About the role & the team

Staff is the step after senior on our technical career track – the difference is the scope of your impact, not the depth of your coding. As our Staff Fullstack Engineer, you'll take technical ownership of the team's domain and raise the level of the whole team, not only through your own code. You'll be part of a talented and ambitious agile team designing and implementing technical solutions across our web applications, for both external customers and internal teams.

You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional colleagues including engineering, product, design, and analytics, and work alongside our Principal Engineer and Engineering Manager. We follow a collaboration-first approach, working three days a week from our Stockholm office. Most of our development is done through agentic AI workflows, and we're always looking for ways to work smarter.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Own the technical plan for the team's domain.
  • Make and document decisions that are expensive to change, together with our Principal Engineer.
  • Turn business goals into technical specifications, including identifying what should not be built.
  • Share responsibility for delivery and prioritisation with the Engineering Manager.
  • Drive the team's ways of working forward (reviews, testing, path to production) and raise the level of others' work through pairing and mentorship.
  • Build fullstack features hands-on, primarily through agentic AI development workflows.

Are we a match?

This is a staff-level role – we're looking for someone confident setting technical direction and proposing decisions with lasting consequences

We’re looking for you who…

  • Have at least 8 years of professional fullstack experience, with backend as your primary strength.
  • Value team success over personal success and thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
  • Have driven technical direction or architectural decisions within a team.
  • Raise the level of others' work through reviews, pair programming, or mentorship.
  • Have experience with Django and AWS.
  • Have hands-on experience with agentic AI development, and the judgement to evaluate and own its output.
  • Are fluent in English or Swedish.

Bonus points if you...

  • Have experience with a CMS platform
