Zayo is seeking a Long Haul Fiber Test & Acceptance Project Manager to manage and coordinate Zayo's long haul OSP deployment in order to meet customer expectations and Zayo standards. Our Long Haul Fiber Test & Acceptance Project Manager will ensure consistency and budget alignments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily management of OSP vendors to expedite the splicing and testing of fiber optic OSP facilities. Requires active testing evaluation to ensure fibers meet OSP requirements.
  • Mandatory on call duty to respond to network outages and emergency restoration activities through rotation with other OSP PMs when the situation arises.
  • Coordinate access to customer and network points of presence for fiber splicing and testing vendors.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of fiber connectivity solutions programs and projects that adhere to approved plans, budgets and schedules.
  • Provide specialized telecommunications technical expertise.
  • Coordinate and facilitate with internal and external resources to effect the timely completion of projects.
  • Oversee product and/or service of the unit(s) managed may involve highly technical activities or programs; or policies, procedures, controls and services required to support the sound financial, operational and competitive position of the company.
  • Implement commercial and carrier fiber networks, infrastructure, backbone and lateral builds.
  • Work within a Data Center environment implementing customer-installation projects and services.
  • Oversee vendor compliance with OSP deliverables.
  • Create and track project budgets in relationship to Network Operations.
  • Provide direct interface with customers, subcontractors, jurisdictional authorities and interoffice personnel. Support customer meetings as necessary which may require in person meetings and travel to client and/or construction sites.
  • Oversee procurement of equipment and materials related to the assigned projects.
  • Execute Bid Process, inclusive of budgetary requirements and the tracking thereof.
  • Verify and update project documentation.
  • Timely tracking of project progress and budget in Sitetracker and manual tracker.
  • Timely update of budget requests, purchase orders, project close out and internal service orders in Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.
  • Fiber optic cable splicing and testing knowledge not required but preference will be given to candidates with this experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' familiarity with all types of outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects.
  • Familiar with Email, MS Excel, Word, Google Earth and AutoCad.
  • Ability to manage multiple aggressive RFP and design construction schedules and responses.
  • Ability to understand and read construction and fiber splicing documents.
  • Familiarity with all facets of OSP management, including quoting, construction, troubleshooting and delivery.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive as required to his/her assigned projects in order to ensure on time and on budget delivery.
  • Ability to perform on-site surveys and attend required field meetings to ensure projects meet the delivery/ commitment dates identified.
  • Ability to occasionally to meet with various municipalities and vendors to review project scope and to ensure positive communication is maintained.
  • Mandatory on call duty to respond to network outages and emergency restoration activities through rotation with other OSP PMs when the situation arises.

Estimated base salary range: $77,100 - $118,600 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
