Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, at least five years of software development experience, and experience with software testing or product launches, design and architecture, and Android development. Preferred qualifications include physical-device development, camera-stack or complex hardware-software integration, on-device ML, and leading technical projects through production launch.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 2 years of experience in Android infrastructure or feature development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Rust/Kotlin).
  • Experience with development with physical devices.
  • Experience building camera stack on OS/framework level or working with complex hardware-software integration.
  • Familiarity with on-device ML model integration and basic knowledge of ML model application.
  • Proven track record of leading technical projects from design through production launch.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Design, write, review, and test code in the Android OS environment for the Face Auth (Toscana) feature in Android laptops/tablets (Aluminium).
  • Innovate and build premium camera features for Aluminium devices.
  • Leverage Google's AI/ML technologies to power innovative use cases or optimize camera image quality.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Pixel and VM) to pioneer advanced camera features and concepts.
