Centroid is seeking a Middleware Support Engineer / WebSphere Administrator to join our Managed Services team in Hyderabad, India. This full-time role will provide production support for U.S.-based clients during U.S. business hours, with responsibility for monitoring, administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of HCL WebSphere Application Server and related middleware technologies. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with strong production support experience, disciplined documentation habits, and the judgment to respond effectively to incidents, escalations, scheduled maintenance, and on-call needs.Key Responsibilities
- Provide managed services support for enterprise middleware environments, including IBM WebSphere Application Server, HCL Portal, IBM ACE, and related integration and security components.
- Perform daily system health checks, monitoring review, incident triage, service request fulfillment, and operational follow-up for assigned client environments.
- Deploy, update, and support enterprise applications, including artifact release management, application rollouts, and post-deployment validation.
- Troubleshoot application and middleware issues by reviewing logs, heap dumps, system alerts, configuration settings, and performance indicators.
- Apply fix packs, patches, configuration changes, and maintenance updates in accordance with approved change control processes.
- Support SSL certificate management, user access administration, authentication mechanisms, SAML/SSO-related configurations, and security-related maintenance activities.
- Create, maintain, and execute administrative scripts using Jython, wsadmin, shell scripting, or similar automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare clear documentation for incidents, service requests, operational procedures, root cause analysis inputs, and knowledge base articles.
- Coordinate with Centroid service delivery managers, U.S.-based technical teams, and client stakeholders to resolve issues and meet service commitments.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance windows, escalation coverage, and rotating on-call support when required.
Required Skillset:• 8+ years of experience in middleware administration, production support, or enterprise application support environments.
- Hands-on experience administering IBM WebSphere Application Server version 8.5 or later in enterprise environments.
- Experience installing, updating, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications and related middleware artifacts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including log analysis, heap dump review, patching support, error diagnosis, and root cause analysis.
- Working knowledge of Linux or AIX operating systems, networking fundamentals, and database integration concepts.
- Experience with middleware security administration, including SSL certificates, access roles, authentication, and secure configuration practices.
- Ability to create and maintain automation scripts using Jython, wsadmin, shell scripting, or similar tools.
- Strong verbal, written, organizational, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to provide accurate and realistic effort estimates, commit to assigned work, and deliver accordingly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced managed services environment and prioritize multiple incidents, service requests, maintenance activities, and client commitments.
- Ability to work productively in a team environment and participate as a positive, collaborative, and cooperative team member.
- Candidates should be flexible to cover U.S. business hours from India and support scheduled maintenance windows, incident escalations, and after-hours on-call coverage as required.
Preferred Skills:• Experience with HCL Portal version 8.5 or later, including Web Content Management, syndication, portlet deployment, and xmlaccess.
- Experience with IBM Application Connect Enterprise (ACE) version 12.
- Experience with IBM Security Verify Access / ISVA / ISAM version 10 or later, including Federation, SAML, and SSO.
- Experience supporting managed services, production operations, or client-facing support environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, problem, change, and service request management processes.
- Experience working with ticketing, monitoring, and knowledge management tools in a structured support environment.
- Experience supporting multiple client environments or shared services operations.
- Immediate joiners preferred.
Work Schedule and Location
This position is based in Hyderabad, India and supports U.S. business hours for Centroid’s North American managed services clients. Exact working hours may vary based on client coverage needs, maintenance windows, and escalation requirements.Success Profile
