Our Innovation Unit builds on more than 20 years of company experience in innovative ICT and Data Analytics solutions, delivered through state-of-the-art international R&D projects.
We are now looking for a Senior R&D Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of innovative services and products in AI, Robotics & Data Analytics, Fintech, Smart Energy, Sustainability and Circular Economy. You will both win and deliver EU-funded projects: turning ideas into scored, fundable, well-budgeted proposals, and then steering them to successful execution.
If you are highly motivated, creative, curious and a true team player, we would like to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
1. EU R&D proposal development
• Lead the preparation of competitive Horizon Europe (and other EU) proposals, from concept to submission.
• Coordinate and contribute to advanced R&D proposals together with internal teams and consortium partners.
• Structure and write high-quality content across Excellence (concept, objectives, state of the art, methodology, TRLs), Impact (KPIs, exploitation, dissemination, market uptake) and Implementation (work plan, work packages, deliverables, milestones, risks).
• Build realistic work packages, effort allocation, budgets and partner roles; produce Gantt/PERT charts, risk registers and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with European Commission templates and requirements (ethics, open science, data management, gender, etc.).
2. EU project management
• Manage EU HORIZON + Greek R&D projects once funded, ensuring timely execution, compliance with objectives, and control of scope, schedule and deliverables.
• Own partner coordination: governance, meeting cadence, minutes and action tracking.
• Prepare technical and financial reporting, including periodic reports and deliverable submissions.
• Monitor KPIs, risks and dependencies, keeping the consortium aligned and the project moving.
• Work closely with technical leads to ensure delivery quality and documentation consistency.
3. Innovation and business development
• Plan and run the dissemination and exploitation of R&D results.
• Formulate and implement innovation strategies for clients in the public and private sector.
• Drive idea generation and product development in AI and data analytics pipelines, digital platforms and decision intelligence, sustainability and decarbonization, and Smart Energy / IoT.
• Contribute to the company’s overall product development and research directions.
Must-have
• Proven record (4+ years) in successful preparation and implementation of EU-funded & Greek R&D proposals and projects.
• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or MSc) in Engineering, Science, Business or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to write strong proposal sections and to produce work packages, deliverables, milestones, risks, KPIs and budgets.
• Ability to link innovative research results to business growth opportunities.
• Very good knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies.
• Confidence coordinating multiple stakeholders: partners, researchers, engineers and management.
• Strong organizational and project management skills; innovative and entrepreneurial character.
• Excellent communication skills in English (C1+) and Greek.
Nice-to-have
• Track record of successful Horizon Europe submissions as lead writer, coordinator or work package leader.
• Experience in smart buildings, energy efficiency and smart grids; AI for monitoring, optimization and forecasting; sustainability frameworks and climate/energy policy.
• Familiarity with the EU innovation ecosystem: TRLs, exploitation plans, dissemination strategy, IPR.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or an equivalent project management certification.
• Experience with public sector, procurement and national or EU innovation programs.
We value our team at the Innovation Unit and offer:
• A competitive salary package based on qualifications, with fixed and performance-based remuneration.
• A hybrid work setup with flexibility.
• The opportunity to collaborate with Europe’s top academic and industrial partners.
• High-value projects in AI, data, digital platforms and digital transformation.
• Direct access to leadership and decision-making, with low bureaucracy and high ownership.
• Continuous education and a growth path within one of Europe’s growing industries, towards EU Program Lead, Innovation Manager or Delivery Director roles.
• A friendly, dynamic and passionate team and an excellent working environment.
