From custom fixtures to sophisticated semi-automated electromechanical systems, you will design and deliver equipment that combines precision mechanics, motion control, pneumatics, sensors, tooling, and machine vision. Your work will directly improve how products are built—making processes smarter, safer, more efficient, and more scalable. What You’ll Do

  • Lead automation projects from concept, proof of concept, and design through commissioning, validation, and production launch.
  • Develop innovative manufacturing equipment and processes that improve quality, efficiency, safety, and process control.
  • Apply your expertise in precision mechanisms, pneumatics, servo systems, tooling, fixtures, actuators, sensors, and machine vision platforms such as Cognex and Keyence.
  • Translate user requirements and development parameters into robust, production-ready automated systems and control recipes.
  • Partner with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Production, Service Operations, and other teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Champion Design for Manufacturability, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and standardization across manufacturing sites.
  • Lead equipment qualification, documentation, operator training, technology transfer, calibration, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Manage external partners, including vendors, machine shops, and contract manufacturers.
  • Build compelling business cases, capital investment proposals, cost-benefit analyses, and ROI evaluations for strategic automation initiatives.
  • Assess project needs, resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful execution.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing automation engineering team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5–10 years of relevant, hands-on engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD; SolidWorks preferred.
  • Strong experience designing complex mechanical and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with PLC and motion programming, including Rockwell or Siemens platforms, structured text, ladder logic, and modular code.
  • Knowledge of SCADA/MES integration and industrial networks such as EtherNet/IP and PROFINET, including network segmentation and cybersecurity best practices in GMP environments.
  • Experience working within ISO, cGMP, and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Understanding of tolerance analysis and statistical methods.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Fluent written and verbal English; Spanish preferred.
  • Self-motivated, creative, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
