Lead Project Manager

In this role, you'll:

• Lead and deliver complex transport (Road) engineering and infrastructure projects to agreed time, cost, quality and scope requirements.

• Manage project planning, design development, technical documentation, cost estimating and contract administration.

• Work independently while also providing clear leadership and direction to project staff, coordinators and technical contributors.

• Oversee contractor performance, ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards, and maintain strong project governance.

• Resolve complex technical, operational and statutory issues to support project progress and timely decision‑making.

• Engage effectively with stakeholders to support collaboration, consultation and project outcomes.

• Implement project management processes, maintain accurate reporting and support continuous improvement across programs.

• Contribute to a customer‑focused and community‑centred approach to planning and delivery of infrastructure projects.

About you:

• Demonstrates strong project leadership capability, with experience guiding project teams, coordinators and contractors across multiple project stages.

• Brings sound judgement and advanced problem‑solving skills, particularly in navigating complex technical, statutory or compliance‑related issues.

• Possesses solid property and infrastructure understanding, including working within regulatory, planning or statutory frameworks.

• Able to work independently with autonomy while managing competing priorities and delivering high‑quality outcomes.

• Shows strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills suited to complex multi‑agency environments.

• Experienced in procurement, contract management, design coordination, project development or delivery within infrastructure or related fields.

• Holds a four‑year civil engineering degree from an Australian university or an equivalent overseas qualification acceptable for professional recognition within Australia.

• Holds a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver licence and is willing to work outside normal working hours and travel on occasion.
