Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, rearchitect, and modernize enterprise web applications using Java and Spring Boot
  • Collaborate with system analysts and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Develop and maintain applications using microservices, reactive programming, RESTful/SOAP APIs, JPA, and database technologies
  • Prepare and maintain technical specifications, conduct code reviews, and manage source code using Git and GitLab/SVN
  • Develop unit and integration tests and support automated testing and continuous delivery using Jenkins and SonarQube
  • Deploy application features, monitor production performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements
  • Apply secure coding practices aligned with OWASP guidelines and support cloud deployments, particularly on AWS
  • Work with caching, messaging, and security technologies such as Redis, Memcached, Kafka, and Vault
  • Prepare technical documentation, identify implementation improvements, and share knowledge with team members
  • Provide ongoing application support and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver solutions within agreed timelines

Person Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree, postgraduate diploma, or professional qualification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of production-level Java application development experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, reactive programming, microservices, Maven, JPA, RESTful/SOAP APIs, and MySQL
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, code quality tools, and version control systems such as GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10, application deployment, and AWS cloud services
  • Familiarity with Java WebFlux, Quarkus, Redis, Memcached, Kafka, and Vault is advantageous
  • Experience with Linux/Red Hat, Bash scripting, and application monitoring is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and technical documentation skills
  • Oracle or Java certifications are advantageous
  • Experience in the financial services industry or credit reporting systems is an added advantage
