The Role We Need:

PadSplit is hiring a QA Engineer to strengthen quality across our Marketplace pod, spanning Mobile (iOS/Android), Web, and backend Platform systems. As our product complexity increases, we need someone who can independently validate cross-platform user flows, reduce production risk, and increase release confidence through disciplined, hands-on testing.

The Person We Are Looking For:

We’re looking for a proactive, technically fluent QA Engineer who thrives in a dynamic startup environment and takes ownership of product quality. You’re comfortable working across mobile, web, and backend systems, partnering closely with Engineering and Product to identify risk early, and prevent issues before they reach production.

Here’s What You’ll Do Day-To-Day:

  • Test Strategy Ownership – Design and execute comprehensive test strategies across Mobile, Web, and backend services.
  • End-to-End Validation – Validate complex user flows that span frontend interfaces and backend systems.
  • API & Backend Testing – Perform API validation, data integrity checks, and business logic testing.
  • Regression Coverage – Execute cross-platform regression testing prior to releases to ensure stability.
  • Issue Investigation – Diagnose defects using logs, network tools, and API inspection techniques.
  • Defect Lifecycle Management – Document, prioritize, and track defects while partnering with engineers on root-cause resolution.
  • Environment Management – Maintain test environments, device coverage, and reliable platform test data.
  • Risk Identification – Proactively surface quality risks during sprint planning and release cycles.

Here’s What You’ll Need To Be Successful:

  • Cross-Platform Testing Experience – Demonstrated experience testing Mobile, Web, and/or backend systems.
  • API Validation Expertise – Strong experience validating RESTful APIs and backend business logic.
  • SDLC/STLC Knowledge – Solid understanding of software and testing lifecycle best practices.
  • Testing Tool Proficiency – Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman (or similar platforms).
  • Technical Acumen – Ability to understand system architecture, integrations, and data flow.
  • Startup Adaptability – Comfortable operating in a remote, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
  • Ownership Mindset – High level of accountability with strong independent execution.
  • Clear Communication – Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Interview Process:

  • Your application will be reviewed for possible next steps by the Hiring Manager.
  • If you meet eligibility requirements, the next step would be a video interview with a member of the PeopleOps team for about thirty (30) minutes.
  • If warranted, the next step would be a technical video interview with our QA Lead and QA Engineer for one (1) hour
  • If warranted, the next step would be a final live technical assessment with our QA Lead and QA Engineer for one (1) hour
  • If warranted, then we move to contract!

Compensation is based on the role's scope, national market benchmarks, the person's expertise and experience, and the impact of their contributions to our business goals.
