This job can be done fully remotely, however if the candidate is located near a PLATO office location hybrid work will be required.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer to support the development and execution of automated testing for a reusable backend automation library. This role will work closely with QA, development, and business teams to build and maintain robust UI and API automation frameworks while supporting validation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse-based solutions.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in Python test automation, Playwright, API testing, and modern testing frameworks, with the ability to contribute to automation strategy, test execution, defect management, and continuous integration practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Python, Playwright, and Pytest.

• Design and execute automated UI and API test suites to validate application functionality and backend integrations.

• Perform backend validation of Dataverse and OData endpoints, including data retrieval and integrity testing.

• Create, maintain, and manage configuration-driven test data and automated test scenarios.

• Validate Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Model-Driven Applications, workflows, and associated backend processes.

• Execute automated and manual test activities and document test results, defects, and supporting evidence.

• Support automated test execution through Azure DevOps pipelines and contribute to reporting and test metrics.

• Collaborate with developers, QA leads, and business stakeholders to investigate issues, troubleshoot failures, and verify resolutions.

• Maintain automation documentation, testing standards, and reusable test assets.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance automation coverage, efficiency, and quality.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing and/or test automation.

• Hands-on experience developing test automation solutions using Python.

• Experience with Playwright and/or Pytest frameworks.

• Strong experience testing REST APIs.

• Experience preparing test evidence, documenting test results, and logging defects.

• Knowledge of Git version control and CI/CD concepts.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and pipeline-driven test execution.

• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dataverse and OData services.

• Experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) solutions, particularly Model-Driven Applications.

• Exposure to enterprise automation frameworks and reusable testing libraries.

• Experience validating backend integrations and data-driven applications.

• Understanding of quality assurance best practices and automation framework design.
