About the Opportunity

Fortress Safety has protected people and equipment in hazardous environments since 1977. As part of Halma plc (a UK FTSE 100 company with 8,000+ colleagues across 50+ subsidiaries worldwide), we're expanding our Northeast US presence across three growing sectors — Machinery Safety, Warehouse Automation, and Food & Beverage. We're looking for a technically-minded sales professional who can own the full sales cycle, from prospecting through to solution design and close, across the Baltimore-to-Boston corridor.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Proactively identify, research, and prospect for new client opportunities across Machinery Safety, Warehouse Automation, and Food & Beverage sectors
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to penetrate target markets and expand Fortress's footprint across your territory
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through networking, outreach, referrals, and collaboration with marketing
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key technical decision-makers and stakeholders within prospective organizations
  • Represent Fortress at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to generate leads and build brand presence
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer challenges, existing systems, and operational requirements
  • Design and present tailored solution proposals and product demonstrations that clearly articulate value and ROI
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal teams (Customer Service, Technical Support, Product, Engineering), translating customer insights into actionable improvements

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electromechanical) or equivalent experience gained on the job
  • Hands-on experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or similar client-facing technical role
  • A proven track record of new business development, account acquisition, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Background or domain experience in Machinery Safety, Warehouse Automation, or Food & Beverage industries
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • A consultative, solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving capability
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the Northeast territory to meet customers and attend industry events (up to 40%)
  • Based in or easily able to reach the wider Baltimore-to-Boston corridor, including hubs such as Boston, NYC, Philadelphia, or Baltimore

Nice to have

  • familiarity with relevant safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 62061)
  • CRM platform experience

What We Offer

  • 24 days holiday per year + 9 office closure days
  • 401(k) matching and profit-sharing potential
  • Company car allowance ($850/month, subject to holding fully comprehensive vehicle insurance)
  • 14 weeks fully paid parental leave
  • Voluntary life, disability, accident, and illness insurance
  • Group healthcare with medical, dental, and vision coverage for you, your family, and partner
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Long service recognition
