The Work You'll Do:

At Sovos, we're powering global tax compliance for half of the Fortune 500 and thousands of businesses worldwide - processing billions of transactions across 19,000+ tax jurisdictions. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you'll be at the core of our infrastructure, designing, scaling, and optimizing the systems that keep our platform running seamlessly.

This role blends technical expertise with serving our customers’ needs. You'll implement scalable solutions, drive automation, and respond to monitors and alerts. More specifically, you will:

Infrastructure & Automation

  • Manage virtual machines and infrastructure using Terraform

  • Manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for seamless deployments

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and alerting to drive operational efficiency

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure high availability and performance of production systems

  • Troubleshoot deployment issues and contribute to root cause analysis

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for configuration, release, and deployment processes

What We Need From You

  • 2-3 years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering

  • Standard hours aligned with US Business hours with additional On-call rotation availability to support production systems

  • Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining on-premise datacenter infrastructure (physical or virtualized servers, OS, networking, middleware) is required. The majority of platform operations are datacenter-based, with cloud serving a supporting role.

  • Experience in Azure DevOps, Kubernetes/Docker Swarm, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline design

  • Familiarity with the Grafana LGTM stack (Loki, Tempo, Mimir/Prometheus) and the role each plays in a unified observability strategy.

  • Experience authoring and managing Grafana alert rules, contact points, and notification policies, including tuning for low noise in high-cardinality environments.

  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated environments (tax, finance, compliance)

  • Familiarity with financial systems

  • Prior experience embedded within DevOps teams
