Senior User Researcher
Turn customer insights into meaningful healthcare innovation.
At Resmed, our Customer Experience team partners closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to create solutions that improve outcomes for patients and providers. As a Senior User Researcher, you will play a key role in uncovering customer needs, identifying opportunities, and helping teams make more informed, customer-centred decisions. You'll work across digital, physical, and service experiences while contributing to the evolution of healthcare solutions that have real-world impact. Experience Insights (EXI) is a multidisciplinary research function spanning UX Research, Customer Experience, and Behavioral Science, bringing together diverse perspectives to shape better experiences and outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Develop research strategies for large and complex programs of work.
- Plan and facilitate strategic, discovery, and UX workshops.
- Partner with stakeholders to uncover unmet needs, define problems, and evaluate concepts and products.
- Design and deliver qualitative and quantitative research studies while managing timelines and dependencies.
- Synthesise findings across multiple studies and data sources to identify patterns, opportunities, and recommendations.
- Communicate insights in a compelling way that builds empathy, influences decisions, and drives action.
- Use AI-enabled tools thoughtfully to support research synthesis, prototyping, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
- Help build and maintain a shared customer knowledge base across teams and disciplines.
- Collaborate with research teams across the organisation to bring a holistic view of customer experiences.
- Partner with Research Operations to improve research practices, governance, repositories, templates, and participant management processes.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or a related field.
- 5+ years' experience leading generative and evaluative research studies, with a proven track record of uncovering customer insights that inform product, design, and business decisions.
- Deep expertise in user research, including planning, conducting, and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative studies. This role is best suited to researchers whose primary focus has been user research within digital product teams.
- Experience applying a broad range of attitudinal, behavioural, qualitative, and quantitative research methods.
- Strong synthesis skills, with the ability to connect insights across studies, projects, and multiple data sources to identify actionable opportunities.
- Experience with lean experimentation, early-stage concept testing, discovery research, and facilitating strategic, discovery, and UX workshops.
- Familiarity with online testing tools, research repositories, and insight management practices.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders through clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Hands-on experience using AI-enabled tools to accelerate research synthesis, prototyping, documentation, and product thinking while maintaining strong research judgement and oversight.
- Experience contributing to Research Operations initiatives, including research repositories, participant panels, templates, toolkits, guidelines and governance practices
Do note there will be travel of up to 15% of the time, including occasional domestic and regional travel.
