If so, consider being the Business Systems Analyst for the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. Join our friendly, collaborative, and hardworking data & technology team, reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Platforms. The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for evaluating and improving processes and systems that support the mission and operational efficiency of the organization. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to align technology solutions with programmatic and operational needs, ensuring that the organization’s systems enable impactful service delivery and data-driven decision-making. The Business Systems Analyst bridges the gap between technology and mission objective, with a special focus on design and public facing applications. Who We Are: The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank’s mission is to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin counties. We envision a community free of the root causes of hunger, where everyone has access to nutritious food of their choosing and is uplifted by a network of support. Together with more than 250+ community partners, we work to address hunger head-on through a coordinated network of neighborhood food pantries, CalFresh enrollment, home-delivered groceries, and policy and advocacy efforts. We work with our community to provide food for people facing hunger today while working to end the hunger of tomorrow. This fiscal year, we are serving 42,000 households per week. Who You Are: To excel in this position, you will need to approach the work with the following habits and values: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on nonprofit operational needs Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Detail-oriented with a focus on mission-aligned outcomes Ability to work collaboratively across departments, including development, programs, supply chain, and finance Passion for appropriate use of data and technology to further the social impact of the organization What You Would Be Accountable for: The Business Systems Analyst is accountable for the following key pieces of work: Analyze current processes and systems to identify inefficiencies, areas for improvement, and alignment with mission-critical goals Interview relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to gather, document, and diagram business and functional requirements Collaborate with IT and contract teams to develop systems that improve program delivery, donor management, and operational efficiency Develop and present business cases for new systems or enhancements through change control boards, ensuring they align with strategic goals and organizational philosophy Maintain documentation, including process workflows, system configurations, and user manuals for staff Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure systems are effective and mission-aligned Provide ongoing support and configuration for systems, resolving issues and optimizing performance and system resiliency Stay up-to-date with technology trends and best practices in nonprofit operations and impact measurement What You Would Be Doing Right Now: Translate stakeholder needs into clear business and functional requirements that guide system design and configuration Implement changes in collaboration with vendors, developers, and other technical support Map, document, and streamline end-to-end system processes across major custom platforms Configure, test, and maintain custom public facing platforms to support reliable program and donor operations Lead user acceptance testing and coordinate system rollouts, staff training, and supporting documentation Provide ongoing system support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to safeguard data quality and operational resiliency What Else You Should Know: All internal candidates must apply using their Food Bank work email within 10 business days of posting to be considered. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in technical field or demonstration of education through some other manner (bootcamp, etc.) 2-4 years in a similar or more junior position PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Product management experience, including roadmap prioritization and stakeholder alignment Familiarity with design thinking and other human-centered design methodologies Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization Experience supporting system implementations, migrations, or integrations KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Ability to digest and distill complex user challenges into business requirements Intermediate understanding of design fundamentals (layout, typography, color, spacing, hierarchy) with the ability to communicate a design system across multiple platforms Familiar in common IT and data terms to aid in collaboration with other teams Familiar with database design and structure to maximize data quality Exposure to data privacy regulations and best practices, especially regarding participant data Familiarity with HTML and CSS to support collaboration with front-end engineers Intermediate UI/UX skills, including the ability to create wireframes and interactive mockups using tools such as Figma or similar Proficiency in human-centered design methodologies, including user research, usability testing, and iterative design Familiarity in core project management tools such as Asana and frameworks such as RACIs, Gantts, OKRs CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position is set in a hybrid work environment. The starting salary for this position ranges from $97,000-$102,000, with exact salary depending on experience.
