Position Title: Engineering and Product Manager
Department: Engineering, Product Development & Innovation Reports To: Director of Operations
Location: Louveira, SP
Position Summary
The Engineering and Product Manager is responsible for leading and managing all activities related to new product development, product innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives within MCC's label and packaging manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key liaison between Commercial, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Customers to ensure products are developed and delivered in alignment with customer requirements, quality standards, operational capabilities, and business objectives.
The Product Development Manager will drive innovation, support strategic growth initiatives, oversee product lifecycle management, and lead cross-functional teams to successfully launch new products while optimizing existing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Product Development and Engineering team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish team priorities and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Support employee development through coaching, training, and performance management.
Product Development & Innovation
- Lead the end-to-end product development process from concept through commercialization.
- Research market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities.
- Partner with design and commercial teams to create innovative, customer-focused solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend new materials, technologies, and production methods.
Project Management
- Plan, execute, and oversee multiple product development projects simultaneously.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation plans.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Provide regular updates to leadership regarding project status and key milestones.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with Production and Quality teams.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of product and process-related issues.
- Implement best practices to improve product performance and manufacturability.
Customer & Commercial Support
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to understand customer needs and translate them into product specifications.
- Participate in customer meetings, technical presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Provide technical support during new business opportunities and product launches.
- Act as a subject matter expert for product capabilities and development processes.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all products comply with applicable industry standards, quality requirements, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audits, customer validations, and quality investigations as needed.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, regulations, sustainability initiatives, and technological advancements impacting the industry.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Graphic Arts, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field required.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in Product Development, Engineering, Innovation, Packaging, Labels, Printing, or Manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing cross-functional product development projects from concept through commercialization.
- Proven track record of leading teams and delivering successful product launches.
- Experience working directly with customers and commercial teams is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of printing, labels, packaging, manufacturing processes, and product development methodologies.
- Experience with ERP and manufacturing systems.
- Familiarity with:

- Strong project management and process improvement skills.
- Working knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Language Requirements
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is required.
- Portuguese required.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position require standing, using hands to handle, touch, and manipulate objects; reaching with arms and hands; and communicating effectively through speaking and hearing. This requires frequent walking throughout the manufacturing environment. Occasionally, the employee may be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
