What we need 

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team within our Software Engineering organization. Your job will be to define and execute quality strategies that ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of Symbotic's warehouse automation and logistics software platforms. You will work closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams to deliver high-quality software solutions while driving testing excellence across the software development lifecycle.  

 

What we do 

The Quality Assurance Team is part of the Software Engineering organization, which is responsible for building and delivering the software systems that power Symbotic's industry-leading warehouse automation platform. Our team ensures that critical applications, services, and automation technologies meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance before they reach customers and operational environments.  

 

What you’ll do 

  • In collaboration with US leadership team, define comprehensive QA strategies for cutting edge warehouse automation and logistics software systems 
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage throughout the software lifecycle 
  • Evaluate and implement QA processes, tools, and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines 
  • Perform functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing in simulated environments 
  • Coordinate work for offshore SQA teams and align testing efforts with business objectives 
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices  
  • Manage defect lifecycle and prioritize issues effectively 

 

What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software QA or related domain 
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies and software development lifecycle 
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, C#, Java) 
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices • Excellent analytical and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks  

Preferred Skills:  

  • Experience with cloud platforms and container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) 
  • Knowledge of SQL, XML, JSON, and RESTful APIs • Exposure to performance and security testing 
  • Passion for quality and continuous learning 

 

Our Environment  

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. 
  • Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.
