Senior Data Scientist
The Senior Data Scientist/Engineer will be responsible for building end-to-end data science solutions for projects across the Veg PS digital landscape. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Partner with the crop teams and digital enablement teams to build statistical or machine learning solutions for projects in Vegetables Seeds Product Supply organization.
- Work closely with data engineers to build automation jobs and cloud-based pipelines for product supply projects.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of data science tools and techniques to identify opportunities and develop data science products supporting organizational objectives and fulfill outcomes.
- Build and maintain cloud-based applications for deploying data science projects.
- Work closely with data engineers to build and maintain APIs for machine learning and data automation projects.
- Partner with crop science data engineering teams to align platform usage.
- Partner with digital transformation team to strategize and execute data integration and digital solutioning needs.
- Align and communicate effectively with stakeholders cross regionally and functionally to align on data analytics requirements and solutioning needs to produce enterprise level dashboards and data science products.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Skills & Experience:
- Master’s or Ph.D in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field or bachelor's with minimum 5 years' experience.
- Strong academic background in machine learning, AI, statistical modeling, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques such as kNN, SVM, tree-based methods.
- Good knowledge of statistical skills, including hypothesis testing, probability distributions, maximum likelihood estimates, Bayesian techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages: R/Python, JavaScript, Java. Demonstrated expertise with deploying solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Good understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with technologies such as Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, GH Actions, AWS Lambda, EC2, ECS etc.
- Application and API development experience using technologies such as ReactJS, Shiny, NodeJS and FastAPI.
- Strong communication and stakeholder mgmt. skills to ensure business advise and influence at all levels across the organization.
- Professional knowledge on tools used within Vegetables Organization: Google Big Query, Tibco Spotfire, Tableau, Business Objects and preferably at least one of the following IT systems and platforms: SAP, Salesforce, Power Automate.
