Lead Product Manager, AI
A10 Networks, Inc San Jose, California, United States · $200K/yr
Software Development · 501-1,000 employees
About the role
The Lead Product Manager will own the AI product line, including the AI Firewall and gateway, while setting the strategic roadmap and revenue targets. They will also drive cross-functional AI initiatives across the portfolio and manage the growth of the AI product team.
What they look for
Requirements
Candidates must have over 8 years of product management experience with a strong background in AI/ML security and enterprise infrastructure. Proficiency in networking, security fundamentals, and a proven track record of shipping products through formal stage-gate processes are required.
Full description
Lead Product Manager, AIA10 protects the infrastructure that carries the internet's traffic. Our customers are now running LLM and agentic workloads on that infrastructure, and they need the same guarantees for AI that they've had from us for two decades on application delivery and DDoS.
This role owns that. You'll carry the roadmap and revenue for A10 AI Firewall and our AI gateway offering, and you'll set the standard for how AI shows up everywhere else in the portfolio — from adaptive learning in A10 Defend Mitigator to behavioral scoring in Defend ThreatX Protect to analytics in A10 Control. You'll have one PM working for you and room to grow the team with the business.
Responsibilities
Own the AI product line
- Set and defend the roadmap for A10 AI Firewall and the AI gateway, from PRD through NPI stage gates to GA and revenue
- Own pricing and packaging, including the identity-based licensing model and discount structure, and defend margin against field pressure
- Partner with engineering on deployment architecture across Thunder form factors — appliance, vThunder, bare metal, and containerized — and on integration with Thunder ADC, SSLi, CFW, and the aXAPI control plane
- Carry bookings, pipeline contribution, and attach rate to the installed base
Set portfolio AI direction
- Define what "AI-enhanced" means at A10 — a common efficacy bar, model transparency standard, and telemetry contract that every product line builds to rather than reinventing
- Drive cross-line AI decisions in partnership with the PMs owning Thunder ADC, CGN, SSLi, CFW, the A10 Defend suite, and A10 Control
- Represent AI in portfolio review, CAB, and the AI CoE intake process, and bring build/buy/partner recommendations forward with the analysis behind them
Grow the team
- Manage and develop one AI-focused product manager, scaling with the business
- Set the standard for written artifacts, customer discovery, and evidence-backed decisions
Own the external story
- Be the credible technical voice on A10's AI strategy with customers, prospects, analysts, and the field — in briefings, at conferences, and on escalated deals
- Drive enablement so SEs and account teams can sell AI capabilities without you on every call
Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years in product management, including at least 2 owning an enterprise infrastructure or security product end to end, with pricing and revenue accountability
- Demonstrated depth in AI/ML security or AI infrastructure: LLM attack surface, prompt injection and model abuse, agentic architectures, MCP and inference traffic patterns, and what an AI gateway actually does in a production path
- Strong networking and security fundamentals — L4–L7, TLS and encrypted traffic inspection, API security, firewalling, DDoS
- Experience with service provider or enterprise sales motions, and the judgment to tell where the two diverge
- Track record of shipping through a formal stage-gate process and of leading cross-functional programs without direct authority over most of the people involved
- Strong written and verbal communication. You'll be in front of executives, customers, and analysts
Preferred
- Prior people management, or clear evidence of readiness for it
- Familiarity with AI governance and compliance frameworks — ISO 42001, the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF — and how they translate into product requirements
- Kubernetes, cloud-native, and hyperscaler marketplace deployment models
- Public company experience with quarterly revenue accountability
