Job Description

At Aperia, we rely on a dynamic team of developers. We’re seeking a Power BI Developer who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries. This person will have System Admin and Power BI skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer MS Fabric, Power BI Servers, Power BI Service and Gateways across environments based on Microsoft releases.
  • Assist with platform administration for Power BI and other BI platforms as needed.
  • Power BI Server management including security, clustering, load balancing, and user management.
  • Power BI Licensing administration support, report and dataset migration and scheduling.
  • Design capacity and utilization monitoring and performance monitoring.
  • Manage application users, groups, service principals, and integration with Active Directory or with Azure Active Directory Power BI Service Management.
  • Provide support to application development teams including set up of workspaces, migration of objects, and participate in deployment reviews.
  • Application upgrades, hotfixes, and documentation based on Vizient’s policies and industry best practices.
  • Connect and manage Power BI to various data sources in cloud, on-prem and new data sources in Data Lakes and Delta Lakes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, debug, tune and optimize for optimal performance other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 2 or more years of related experience is required.
  • Hands on experience in a Microsoft Power BI administrator role is required.
  • General knowledge of IT Operational practices, Microsoft Active Directory, BI Platforms, and cloud technologies including Azure or AWS is required.
  • Administration experience with MS Fabric highly preferred
  • Experience developing with Cognos, SAS, Power BI, or other BI tools is preferred.
  • Experience with change management processes and best practices with respect to BI tools is preferred.
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban is preferred.

Education or Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
