The Sr. IT Business Analyst serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT across a diverse portfolio of enterprise applications supporting Sales, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Consumer Affairs, Legal, Sustainability, Compliance, and other corporate business functions.

This role partners with business and technology teams to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement, analyze data, and deliver technology solutions that drive business value. Success requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to independently lead initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include supporting application enhancements, driving process improvements, developing reporting and insights, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring successful delivery of technology solutions that align with business objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Business Analysis & Solution Delivery: Partner with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, identify opportunities for improvement, document requirements, and translate business needs into practical technology solutions. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions align with business goals and strategic priorities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor and primary liaison between business teams and IT. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitate discussions, communicate project status, manage expectations, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.

Data Analytics & Business Insights: Analyze business and system data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and root causes. Develop reporting, dashboards, and actionable insights to support business decision-making. Partner with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and measure business outcomes.

Application Support & Continuous Improvement: Support a portfolio of enterprise applications by managing enhancement requests, investigating issues, identifying process improvements, and coordinating resolution activities. Recommend innovative solutions that improve user experience, efficiency, and business performance.

Training & Change Management: Develop training materials, user documentation, and communication plans that support successful adoption of new processes, technologies, and enhancements. Facilitate end-user training and change management activities.

Reporting & Documentation: Maintain documentation related to requirements, business processes, testing, reporting specifications, training materials, and operational procedures. Ensure knowledge is documented and accessible for long-term support.

Project Coordination: Coordinate project activities, manage priorities, track deliverables, communicate risks, and support successful implementation of business and technology initiatives across multiple workstreams.

Leadership: Fosters a positive team environment by demonstrating accountability, collaboration, customer service, continuous improvement, and strong partnership across business and IT teams.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Information Systems, Analytics, Communications, Marketing, Finance, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Experience with Power BI, reporting, dashboard development, and data visualization preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and supporting solution delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with technical teams, business users, and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and ability to independently drive work to completion.
  • High learning agility and the ability to quickly understand new business processes, technologies, and applications.
  • Team-oriented, approachable, and committed to fostering a positive work culture.

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • Experience supporting Sales, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Legal, Sustainability, Compliance, Consumer Affairs, or other business-facing functions.
  • Experience with CRM, marketing, customer service, reporting, or collaboration platforms.
  • Experience leveraging data and analytics to support decision-making and process improvement.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and business process optimization efforts.

The expected pay range for this position is $75,000 - $110,000 annually.

Smithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the company reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate’s qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay for comparable positions and budget considerations.
