Black & Grey HR is working with a leading luxury carpet and home décor company that is hiring for its design studio in Kolkata. The Graphic Designer will support the design team's creative output across pattern development, visual documentation and presentation materials, working closely with design and production teams to translate concepts into studio-ready references and finished products.
Key Requirements:
- Develop and document patterns, motifs and colour ways for studio production, ensuring designs are ready for execution by the craft team. - Prepare presentation materials, mood boards, design decks and visual references for internal reviews and client presentations. - Translate creative briefs into refined visual outputs while maintaining consistency with the studio's design aesthetic. - Maintain and organise design archives, colour palettes, pattern libraries and reference materials. - Collaborate with production teams to ensure design concepts can be effectively translated into finished products. - Identify and communicate design feasibility concerns during the development stage. - Contribute original design concepts and creative ideas for seasonal collections and new product development. - Support the design team in creating visually compelling presentations and documentation for ongoing projects. - Ensure design files, artwork and supporting materials are accurately maintained and updated. - Work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality design output within project timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Design, Textile Design, Product Design, Graphic Design or a related field.
- Formal design education from NIFT, NID or an equivalent design institute is preferred.
- 3–4 years of relevant design experience, ideally within product design, furniture, home décor, textiles, carpets or related craft-based industries.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
- Strong understanding of pattern development, colour theory, layout design and visual storytelling.
- Excellent eye for colour, proportion, composition and craft detail.
- Experience creating mood boards, presentations and visual documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A strong design portfolio showcasing creative and professional design work.
