Application Database Administrator 

Security Clearance: Secret Certification Requirements: IAT II,  Computing environment certification: OCA18 or a relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.

Position Summary Nationwide IT Services, NIS, seeks a highly qualified Application Database Administrator to administer database schemas and objects in a client/server environment. This potential, fully remote role designs, creates, maintains, audits, and secures schemas, supports database programming and systems design, and advises users on database access. Working with Infrastructure DBAs, the administrator projects long-range schema administration and design requirements and aligns database solutions with user needs across all task areas. This position is contingent upon contract award and funding.

Key Responsibilities• Administer database schemas and their objects, including design, creation, maintenance, and operational support in a client/server environment.

  • Coordinate with Infrastructure DBAs to project long-range requirements for database schema administration and design.
  • Conduct schema quality control and audits to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data and permissions.
  • Advise users on access to client/server databases and support access methods that meet user requirements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain complex schema objects, addressing access time, device allocation, validation checks, data organization, protection, security, documentation, and statistical methods.
  • Apply database technologies, development methodologies, and programming languages such as SQL to support database solutions.
  • Perform database programming and support systems design across relevant operating systems and programming environments.

Required Qualifications• At least five years of progressive experience with database platforms and query languages such as Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server, and Microsoft Access.

  • At least three years of hands-on experience and expertise in database schema management.
  • Experience working across various operating systems and using additional programming languages.
  • Experience on at least two projects in a large organization involving the administration, operation, maintenance, and security of a large-scale computer database.

Security and Certification Requirements• Sensitivity level: IT-II – Critical Sensitive.

  • Clearance: Secret.
  • Information assurance level: IAT II.
  • Computing environment certification: OCA18 or a relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.

Salary range: $160,000 to $171,000 annually  The salary range is a general guideline. We consider several factors when determining base salary offers, including the position's scope and responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, and skills, and current market conditions.
