Full description

In a nutshell

As our Digital Workspace Solutions Engineer, you are the architect and project driver of the digital tools and standards that power Picnic across the Netherlands, Germany, and France. Moving beyond daily ticket handling, you create and own the long-term roadmap, system standards, process automation, and vendor partnerships.

We are looking for a self-starting engineer who creates long-term vision, dares to decide and takes ownership of outcomes. An analytical fixer with strong IT engineering and project skills: someone who automates a repetitive task once rather than resolve it manually twenty times. You will bridge strategic vision with hands-on technical design to ensure a seamless, secure, and scalable digital architecture.

Tricks of the Trade

Standardization & Automation

• Design international standards: Define unified hardware portfolios, software authentication policies, and IT standards across all operating regions.

• System & access management: Monitor system performance, optimize software delivery, optimize Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC), and support Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) workflows.

• Automation: Identify manual bottlenecks, analyze incoming requests and ticket trends, drive Zero-Touch Enrollment (ZTE) setups, and build automations to reduce ticket volume.

Project & Stakeholder Management

• Lead central projects: End-to-end ownership of complex IT projects such as ticket workflow design and zero-touch deployments.

• In-house expertise: Topic expert and lead on complex operational and technical challenges, direct support for the delivery team.

• Cross-Functional Alignment: Cooperate closely with Security, Tech, Delivery and operations teams to align operational need with DiWS strategy

Commercial & Vendor Governance

• Vendor management: Own the licensing strategy and hardware lifecycle, manage relationships with key suppliers, lead contract negotiations and partner sourcing.

• Cost optimization: Drive continuous cost control across hardware and software budgets, identifying structural savings through vendor consolidation, license cleanups, and spend benchmarking.

About you…

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO/WO) in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience

• 3+ years working experience with a solid understanding of modern workplace management, IT operations, device management and systems architecture

• Hands-on mastery of macOS, Windows, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira/Confluence, and MDM solutions (Intune, SOTI, or Workspace ONE)

• Basic knowledge of scripting skills (E.g. Powershell, Python) and generative AI tools

• Analytical mind with an architectural perspective and the assertiveness to challenge current setups and drive structural solutions

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to roll out central projects internationally by taking full ownership of outcomes

• Fluent in English

• Working on-site from our Amsterdam office and willingness to occasionally travel internationally (Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Paris)
