Summary:
The Financial Analyst – Revenue Cycle is responsible for various billing functions on the Revenue Cycle team. The ideal candidate will support financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities related to the revenue cycle process, helping to optimize revenue generation and ensure accurate financial performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in analyzing revenue cycle data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support month-end and quarterly financial close processes related to revenue cycle activities.
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management review.
- Prepare and maintain External WellAssist (EWA) client reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of payment and utilization data to internal and external stakeholders.
- Extract, transform, and validate data from multiple sources using SQL and reporting tools to support EWA analytics, financial reporting, and operational decision-making.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and KPI reporting that provide visibility into EWA payment activity, remittance performance, turnaround times, and client-specific metrics.
- Partner with Revenue Cycle, Client Success, Operations, and Finance teams to validate data, resolve reporting discrepancies, and support client reporting requirements related to EWA programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including billing, collections, and operations to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
- Help monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain and update financial models and forecasting tools related to revenue cycle performance.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in healthcare or pharmacy benefits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in Microsoft SQL
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Microsoft Power BI experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of revenue cycle processes and healthcare finance is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
This position is in both a typical office environment which requires prolonged sitting in front of a computer and in an external environment where travel is required. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including operation of standard computer and phone equipment. May have occasional high stress when dealing with customers/clients. Minimal travel could be required.
