Tech Lead Backend (Node.js/ Nest.js)

🚀 Zexter is an ambitious product building its own technological ecosystem in the iGaming space.

We are developing our in-house platform, which is already live and actively operating, while also expanding our product line, allowing us to adapt quickly to market needs and implement innovations at speed.

We are looking for a Tech Lead Backend to join our Team and take technical ownership of our backend systems. You will combine hands-on development with technical leadership, drive architectural decisions, and ensure our systems are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.

You’ll work closely with Backend Engineers, QA, DevOps, and Product, owning technical initiatives from design to production.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Backend Engineers.

• Own backend architecture and drive key technical decisions.

• Lead the development of complex, high-load backend solutions.

• Develop and maintain services using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.

• Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues.

• Identify and solve performance, scalability, and reliability issues.

• Ensure data consistency and reliability of financially critical systems.

• Conduct code reviews and establish engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and other teams.

• Take ownership of technical initiatives from design to production.

Requirements

• 7+ years of commercial backend development experience with Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS.

• Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL).

• Strong understanding of backend architecture and software design principles.

• Experience building and supporting high-load production systems.

• Strong SQL and database optimization skills.

• Experience with Redis, message queues, and event-driven architecture.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud environments.

• Previous experience as a Tech Lead / Team Lead or strong technical leadership experience.

• Strong ownership and communication skills.

• English B2.

• iGaming experience.

• Experience with payments, wallets, transactions, or other financially critical systems.

• Experience with third-party integrations.

• Experience with AI development tools such as Cursor or Claude.
