Job Summary:

This role is part of the Business or Office Systems Group comprising of Systems Analysts. The primary responsibility is to analyse the business needs to help identify business problems and propose solutions. They should work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems.

The Senior IT Systems Analyst should be able to run internal IT projects and play a significant role in major IT related projects by safeguarding the standards for Project Management, Change Management, documentation, training, and quality of the projects, ensuring that budgets are adhered to, and deadlines met.

They should follow standard software operations/development methodology. He / She reviews and approves system specifications, programming, and technical analysis for his / her team. He / She takes responsibility for his / her team’s project work schedule. He / She translates business requirements into clearly defined project outlines and plans and participates in the functional and technical support activities as necessary.

Coordination with the subordinates is required on special projects, and other functional / technical support activities. They must ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with QAFCO Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment procedures. Customer Satisfaction is an important aspect of this role as is the concern for timeliness and analytical approach to responding to system and application problems.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and monitor implementation of IT policies, procedures and methodologies.
  • Supervise or individually consult with users to identify and document business requirements and problems to automate or improve existing systems/ processes.
  • Convert business requirements and project specifications into process diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps and clarify anticipated outputs with End-Users.
  • Configure and maintain system/software to ensure systems meets the end-user needs.
  • Supervise programming activities and ensure that they have been achieved according to methodologies and procedures.
  • Supervise team unit testing and regression testing to eliminate errors / bugs to ensure that they are in conformance with Business Requirements & specifications and coordinate with Business the User Acceptance Sign Offs.
  • Participate in the selection process of new software packages, Third-party products, and applications. Carry out technical evaluation and recommend suitable systems to QAFCO end-users.
  • Investigate and identify root-cause of occurring problems and system malfunctions and participate in the formulation of remedial solutions to avoid repeated occurrence.
  • Read publications and application-specific magazines to keep abreast with new developments in area of responsibility and propose new solutions / programs to meet staff and user requirements.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Head of Section to enable achievement of Section’s targets and programs.
  • Research technical and functional solutions, products and alternatives and recommend solutions
  • Supervise and ensure optimal support to operational issues.
  • Work towards a continual improvement of information systems.
  • Participate in the on-the-job training of trainees and newly hired personnel within the Group to ensure that they develop the necessary skills to independently carry out assigned activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology/ management information system or relevant discipline.
  • 5-8 years direct and relevant experience.
  • Experience in various module of SAP, preferably SAP S4/HANA.
