As a Senior QA Engineer focused on software and system quality at DRS RADA, you will join the R&D engineering team to drive quality assurance, testing lifecycles, and verification processes for advanced radar and defense systems. This role requires experience and meticulous attention to detail across complex hardware-software environments. You will collaborate closely with systems engineers and software development teams to ensure the highest standards of reliability, safety, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Testing: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for complex embedded software, system applications, and system-of-systems integrations.
- System Verification & Validation (V&V): Validate system requirements against operational use cases, ensuring strict compliance with defense standards, performance metrics, and customer specifications.
- Bug Management & Lifecycle: Execute bug tracking, root-cause analysis, and defect lifecycles using Jira in alignment with company procedures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with R&D engineering teams, system engineers, and developers to ensure quality gates are successfully met from early design phases through deployment.
Requirements
- Education: B.A/B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 3–5 years of proven hands-on experience as a Software / System QA Engineer within high-tech, defense, aerospace, or embedded systems industries.
- Technical Proficiencies:
- Strong background in testing embedded systems, real-time software, and complex multidisciplinary products.
- An advantage, not a requirement: Hands-on experience with test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++, or Java).
- Familiarity with networking protocols, Windows& Linux environments
- Toolchain Knowledge: Proficiency with modern ALM and collaboration tools, such as Jira, Doors/ Jama, and Git-based repositories (GitLab/Bitbucket).
- Methodologies: Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies and structured V&V lifecycles.
- Languages: Good command of English and Hebrew (verbal and written), essential for technical documentation and international interfaces.
- Personal Attributes: Highly analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-critical R&D environment.
