Senior Software Engineer (QA)
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (QA) with 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, and end-to-end system validation. The ideal candidate will own the quality lifecycle across product development, ensuring robust test coverage, production-grade reliability, and continuous quality improvements through modern engineering practices.
You will work closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, Architects, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment to design comprehensive test strategies, develop scalable automation frameworks, validate complex payment and microservices-based systems, and ensure high-quality software releases. This role requires a strong balance of automation expertise, analytical problem-solving, and hands-on manual testing to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing applications.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Own end-to-end quality engineering for assigned products and features from design through production release.
- Design and execute comprehensive test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance scalable automation frameworks to improve test efficiency and release confidence.
- Perform hands-on manual testing where automation is not appropriate, ensuring complete functional and business validation.
- Validate complex microservices, APIs, payment workflows, and third-party integrations while ensuring data integrity across distributed systems.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis for defects, production incidents, and quality issues.
- Drive shift-left testing practices by collaborating closely with developers during feature design and implementation.
- Ensure production readiness through risk assessment, regression validation, and release quality reviews.
- Mentor QA engineers by promoting engineering best practices, automation standards, and technical excellence.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes, automation frameworks, test coverage, and engineering quality metrics.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve test design, automation development, defect analysis, and overall QA productivity while maintaining engineering quality and governance.
Skills you will have fine-tuned:
- Quality Engineering: E2E quality ownership, shift-left testing, test strategy/planning, functional/integration/system testing, regression, exploratory & risk-based testing
- Test Automation: Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, Postman/Bruno, API/UI automation, BDD, data-driven testing, framework development & maintenance
- API & Integration: REST/JSON, OAuth/authentication, microservices, contract testing, third-party integrations, payment gateway & E2E transaction testing
- Quality & Release: RCA, defect management, release readiness, quality gates, quality metrics & reporting
- Engineering Practices: Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, continuous testing, secure testing, code reviews & test documentation
- Domain: Payments domain and PCI DSS awareness
- AI-Enabled QA: AI-assisted testing/development and awareness of emerging AI-driven QA tools and practices
- Certifications: ISTQB and relevant automation certifications preferred
