About Remote People

At Remote People, we're building the infrastructure to power borderless teams. By handling global payroll, benefits, taxes, and compliance, our technology enables businesses to hire anyone anywhere compliantly at the push of a button.

If you're interested in adding to our vision of enabling people to work in dream jobs, for every company, and from anywhere in the world, apply now!

We're committed to building a global, diverse team representing different and varied backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, civil or family status, age, or disability. Being part of Remote People means being part of a growing, international family.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for your area, from problem definition through delivery and iteration
  • Lead discovery with Payroll, Operations, and partner teams, ensuring we solve manual bottlenecks, avoid calculation errors and create trust with our customers
  • Partner with engineering and design as a true triad, facilitating problem discovery and solution design as a team
  • Improve how payroll calculation issues, reporting gaps, and partner connectivity problems are surfaced and resolved, reducing escalations and rework for Ops and Payroll teams
  • Own the payroll calculation and reporting layer; ensure outputs are accurate, clear and understandable
  • Build and maintain our country-specific payroll and compliance knowledge base, keeping it accurate as rules change
  • Maintain robust partner connectivity across payroll partners, ensuring data flows correctly and integrations don’t break downstream reporting

Requirements

  • 4+ years in product, with experience owning complex B2B SaaS or HR-tech/fintech products: payroll, compliance, integrations, or financial operations
  • Strong product fundamentals. You manage your product, not your backlog.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. You cross bridges without burning them.
  • You practice concise communication. No corporate slop. A 5 year old can explain your PRDs to your engineering team.
  • You’ve worked on platform-level products with real system complexity: data models, integrations, cross-service dependencies and you know how to reason about trade-offs across product, operations, and engineering
  • Strong operational instinct: you understand how payroll accuracy, reporting reliability, and partner connectivity connect to customer trust
  • You define success metrics before scoping and revisit them when things aren’t moving
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, cross-functional environments — you drive clarity rather than waiting for it
  • You’ve worked in a high-trust, autonomous team structure; you need context, access to customers, and clear business goals, not a feature list
  • You know how to leverage AI as a force multiplier without outsourcing your judgement
  • Hands-on experience with payroll partner integrations or global compliance data is advantageous
