WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Review customer requirements, drawings, and specifications to develop product builds that meet project needs.
- Build and modify 2D and 3D designs while ensuring accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Perform build calculations and verify dimensions, tolerances, and specifications; communicate any concerns or discrepancies.
- Apply knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and manufacturing methods when developing builds.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and other teams to ensure builds are practical and production-ready.
- Build, maintain, and update bills of materials (BOMs) throughout the design process.
- Review and validate builds for fit, function, material selection, and overall project requirements.
- Prepare and submit preliminary and approval drawing packages to customers; incorporate feedback and revisions as needed.
- Develop final drawing packages and release builds for production.
- Support manufacturing by providing fabrication drawings and assisting with design-related questions throughout production.
YOU HAVE:
- Associate degree in Drafting, Build Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience using AutoCAD and 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar build platforms.
- Understanding of mechanical product building, drafting standards, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to build detailed drawings, assemblies, and product designs with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ideally 3-5+ years of product development, mechanical development, drafting, or related experience, preferred.
