IT Project Manager (PMP Certified)

Contract: 6-12 Months | Hybrid

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly experienced, PMP-certified IT Project Manager to lead strategic technology initiatives involving both custom software development and third-party software implementations.This role requires a delivery-focused leader who can successfully manage complex programs, competing priorities, vendors, and distributed teams while maintaining accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business outcomes.Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Governance

  • Lead multiple concurrent IT projects through the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, deployment, stabilization, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, communication plans, RAID logs, and executive dashboards.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, dependencies, risks, issues, and change control processes.
  • Provide regular project health reporting and strategic recommendations to executive sponsors and governance committees.
  • Ensure alignment between project objectives and business outcomes.

Custom Software Development

  • Lead Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, or hybrid software development initiatives.
  • Coordinate efforts across product owners, business analysts, architects, developers, QA teams, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including:• Sprint Planning
  • Backlog Refinement
  • Daily Stand-Ups
  • Sprint Reviews
  • Retrospectives
  • Release Planning
  • Drive accountability, transparency, and delivery excellence across near-shore development teams.
  • Support production deployments and release management activities.

Third-Party Software Implementations

  • Lead implementation of enterprise SaaS and commercial software solutions.
  • Manage project activities including:• Planning and configuration
  • System integrations
  • Testing and training
  • Deployment and adoption
  • Coordinate software vendors, implementation partners, internal IT teams, cybersecurity teams, data teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Oversee:• Data migrations
  • Interface development
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Cutover planning
  • Go-live readiness
  • Post-production support
  • Hold vendors accountable for contractual deliverables, milestones, quality standards, and issue resolution.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Serve as the primary communication bridge between executives, business users, technical teams, vendors, and near-shore partners.
  • Translate technical concepts, risks, and constraints into clear business language.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting and decision-ready recommendations.
  • Adapt communication style for audiences ranging from C-suite leaders to frontline contributors.
  • Facilitate decision-making, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration across distributed teams and time zones.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 7+ years of experience managing complex IT projects and enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success delivering:• Custom software development projects
  • Enterprise software implementation projects
  • Experience managing distributed, remote, or near-shore development teams.
  • Strong vendor, contract, budget, and risk management experience.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Ormond Beach, FL.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
