Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver engineering activities for avionics and flight control system programs, ensuring commitments are met with respect to scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Define and manage the engineering development lifecycle, including design, integration, verification, validation, and certification activities.
  • Consolidate engineering plans, risks, and opportunities across multidisciplinary teams to optimize technical execution and program performance.
  • Develop project estimates and support planning activities for engineering development efforts.
  • Coordinate with internal and external suppliers to oversee the design and evolution of electronic hardware and system solutions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of system engineering specialists, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Ensure developed systems and equipment meet customer technical, performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Support system-level requirements definition, engineering analyses, certification activities, customer design reviews, and technical discussions as required.
  • Drive compliance with aerospace certification standards including RTCA DO-254, DO-178, and SAE ARP4754.
  • Support customer service and sustainment teams through technical expertise and problem resolution.

Required Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in the design, development, and certification of airborne electronic equipment and embedded aerospace systems.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, and tracking engineering development activities.
  • Proven leadership experience managing or leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering processes, requirements management, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Knowledge of aerospace development and certification standards, including DO-178, DO-254, and ARP4754.
  • Experience working with suppliers and external stakeholders in a highly regulated engineering environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, risk management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to present and defend technical solutions to customers, certification authorities, and internal stakeholders.

Miscellaneous Requirements

  • On-site in Montreal office 3x per week
