The project: Managing a portfolio of projects across Southern Wales working closely with a strategic client in the Ports and Maritime sector.
You’ll be responsible for:
Project delivery
- Managing delivery of property development projects from approved concept to completion.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget and required quality.
- Establishing and maintaining robust project plans, risk management and reporting.
- Providing clear visibility of performance (cost, programme, risk)
Development interface
- Working closely with the Property team on feasibility studies, option appraisal and business case development.
- Providing delivery input on buildability, programme, risk and cost during early stages.
- Supporting transition from concept approval into delivery phase.
Planning and statutory approvals
- Supporting the Property Team in planning applications and statutory approvals.
- Ensuring approved schemes are translated effectively into deliverable project scopes.
- Managing interfaces between planning conditions and construction delivery.
Commercial and procurement
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with ABP governance.
- Managing tendering, contract award and contractor performance management.
- Maintaining control of cost, change and forecasting throughout delivery.
Stakeholder management
- Acting as the primary interface between Property, Engineering, Operations and Commercial teams during delivery
- Engaging with tenants, developers and other stakeholders to support project delivery
- Supporting customer-led development opportunities through effective delivery planning
Governance and control
- Managing project governance, including chairing/owning project boards and SteerCo meetings
- Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, H&S standards and ABP project processes
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting (cost, schedule, risk, benefits)
- Supporting internal approvals and investment governance processes
Handover and benefits realisation
- Ensuring effective transition into operation or tenant occupation.
- Supporting the Property and Commercial teams in achieving intended commercial outcomes.
- Tracking and report delivery of agreed benefits.
You’ll need to have:
- Proven project management experience across full lifecycle delivery.
- Experience in industrial, logistics or port-related property, including open storage and shed developments.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
- Experience managing multiple projects across different locations.
- Ability to lead governance forums and senior stakeholder discussions.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (RICS, APM, ICE or similar)
- Knowledge of project governance and processes.
