Job Overview

Rhea County School District, headquartered in Dayton, Tennessee, is a dedicated educational organization serving approximately 3,900 to 4,300 students from pre-kindergarten through to the 12th grade. We are committed to providing outstanding support to students across our seven public schools. We are currently seeking a meticulous and insightful Customer Data Analyst to join our team. In this context, our "customers" are our students, parents, and the wider community we serve.

This Full-Time position is remote and it is a unique opportunity for a data professional passionate about using their skills to make a positive impact on educational outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing various data sets to provide actionable insights that will help shape the future of our district and enhance the learning experience for every student.

Salary: $47,000 to $75,012 USD per annum, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and interpret complex data sets related to student performance, attendance, enrolment trends, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analyse data to identify patterns, challenges, and opportunities for improvement within the district's educational programmes.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate findings effectively to school leadership, administrators, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to understand their data requirements and provide analytical support for their initiatives.
  • Translate complex data and statistical findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data across all district information systems.
  • Support the district's strategic planning processes by providing robust, data-driven evidence.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with database management.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex information to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience within the education sector would be a significant advantage but is not essential.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
