Full description

Nordic Investin is recruiting an Analytics Engineer on behalf of one of our partner companies. You enjoy turning messy source data into definitions that people can trust in a dashboard, experiment or board meeting.

The partner wants to strengthen the semantic layer between operational systems and business decisions. You will model data, define metrics and work closely with analysts and domain experts to make reporting consistent.

The partner wants data and AI work that can be operated, explained and improved after launch. Provenance, quality, access and evaluation belong in the solution from the beginning.

How you will work

You will work with engineers, analysts and domain specialists who look at the same information from different angles. The partner expects assumptions, datasets and evaluation methods to be visible. Solutions should be designed for repeatable delivery, monitored use and responsible change after deployment.

You will receive meaningful ownership while working with senior colleagues on the most consequential decisions. The partner expects you to deliver independently within a clear area, ask for context early and contribute ideas grounded in what you observe. There is room to deepen your specialism or broaden toward adjacent responsibilities.

What you will do

  • Develop transformation models using SQL and dbt.
  • Create reusable metric definitions and dimensional models.
  • Test freshness, completeness and business logic.
  • Document lineage and make assumptions visible.
  • Review dashboard queries and improve performance.
  • Partner with stakeholders to resolve conflicting definitions.

What you will bring

  • Strong SQL and experience transforming analytical data.
  • Knowledge of dimensional modelling and warehouse concepts.
  • Experience with dbt or a comparable transformation workflow.
  • Ability to translate business questions into precise data logic.
  • Comfort with Git, testing and code review.
  • Professional English and patient stakeholder communication.

Experience that would add value

  • Looker, Power BI, Tableau or another BI platform.
  • Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or Redshift.
  • Experience in finance, product analytics or operations.

A background that can succeed here

You may be a data analyst who moved closer to engineering or a data engineer who enjoys the business meaning of the model. The partner values careful definitions as much as technical elegance.

What makes the opportunity interesting

You will improve the numbers people use to run the business. The role offers close contact with decision makers, modern analytics tooling and a clear route toward senior analytics engineering or data product ownership.

The exact partner, employment model, compensation, start date and working arrangement will be explained openly during the process. Nordic Investin will make sure you understand the context, expectations and decision path before you are asked to commit significant time.

The recruitment conversation

During the process, Nordic Investin will focus on concrete decisions you have made: the context you received, the alternatives you considered, the result you observed and what you would change today. You do not need every optional technology if your core experience transfers and you can explain how you would close the gap.

How to apply

Apply with your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short note describing the most relevant system, product or transformation you have helped deliver. Nordic Investin welcomes candidates with different routes into technology and assesses applicants on relevant capability, judgement and potential.
