Requirements

Candidates must have professional experience in cybersecurity within industrial or critical infrastructure environments, including hands-on knowledge of network architecture and OT security. A degree in a relevant technical field is required, along with fluency in English and the ability to travel internationally.

Full description

Join Axpo Biogas International and make cybersecurity tangible: from NIS2 governance to the networks and controls that keep biomethane plants safe. Shape scalable security architecture across Europe and turn regulation into practical, on-the-ground decisions.

What you will do:

  • Own the cybersecurity framework for Axpo Biogas International, with a strong focus on NIS2 and the applicable national requirements across Europe.
  • Lead incident response and act as the company's liaison with the relevant national competent authorities.
  • Define target architectures and produce or approve designs, network diagrams, asset inventories, data-flow maps, migration plans, test plans and rollback procedures.
  • Assess cybersecurity risks and lead technical validation across due diligence, design, construction, commissioning and operation of biomethane plants, including on-site visits.
  • Design and improve secure plant networks – VLANs, IT/OT segmentation, industrial DMZs and controlled conduits between PLC, HMI, SCADA and enterprise systems – and select, configure and govern firewalls and other network-security components.
  • Partner with Engineering, Construction, Operations, IT, Legal and external integrators, evaluate suppliers and technical proposals, and deliver practical security guidance and awareness to plant teams.

What you bring & who you are:

  • You have experience in cybersecurity for production plants, industrial environments, energy, utilities, process industries or comparable critical infrastructure.
  • You know NIS2, cyber-risk management and incident-notification obligations, and you have hands-on experience with network architecture, firewalls and privileged or remote access.
  • You can inspect a site, understand current-state infrastructure and design a pragmatic target state, and you bring sound knowledge of Windows and Linux security, virtualisation, backup and recovery, endpoint protection and vulnerability and patch management.
  • You hold a degree or equivalent professional experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Automation, Telecommunications or a related discipline, you're fluent in English and open to travelling internationally.
  • Ideally, you bring OT security expertise – Purdue architectures, industrial protocols, PLC/HMI/SCADA environments or industrial firewalls.
  • Ideally, you're comfortable using data-analysis tools to work with logs, asset data, vulnerabilities and operational trends.

You are pragmatic and hands-on, equally comfortable in a regulatory discussion, a firewall rule review or a plant walkdown. You build trust across cultures and make clear, risk-based decisions. Even if you don't meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

About the team:

You will work closely with Asset Management and interact with Engineering, Construction, Operations and Plant Managers across our international biomethane portfolio, while connecting with Axpo's IT and cybersecurity specialists. The environment is collaborative and hands-on, with real ownership and visible impact.

At Axpo Group, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of non-discrimination, tolerance, and inclusion.
