Full description

George Junior Republic was established in 1909. Since that time, the organization has expanded to include George Junior Republic in Pennsylvania, Preventative Aftercare, and George Junior Republic in Indiana.

The organization is seeking a structured, mission-driven IT System Administrator & Helpdesk Leader to oversee our on-site technology infrastructure and guide our local technical support team. Located fully on-site at our Grove City, PA facility, this role manages daily operations in a Windows server environment, leverages NinjaOne for unified endpoint monitoring and helpdesk ticketing, and ensures strict HIPAA compliance across all network communication channels. Advanced architecture engineering for our Proxmox virtualization environment is managed by an external tier-3 contractor; this position focuses on day-to-day cluster administration, routine resource provisioning, and acting as the primary tactical administrator of our on-premise and SAAS communications stacks.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Helpdesk Leadership & Support: Lead and mentor internal helpdesk staff. Direct workflow distribution through the NinjaOne ticketing module, tracking resolution metrics, managing service level expectations, and serving as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Windows System Administration: Maintain, configure, and secure local Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory domain services, Group Policies (GPOs), and end-user Windows workstations across the facility.
  • Proxmox Cluster Management: Monitor performance logs and health states of the existing Proxmox VE virtualization cluster. Allocate compute, storage, and memory resources for virtual machines under the guidance of our external systems contractor.
  • Communications & Self-Hosted Infrastructure: Administer on-site communication tools including self-hosted Zoom infrastructure, local corporate email platforms, and internal voice/phone setups. Troubleshoot local routing and connectivity challenges.
  • Endpoint Management & Patching: Deploy, audit, and patch on-site desktop and server hardware utilizing the NinjaOne RMM platform to maintain baseline security standards.
  • HIPAA & Data Security: Enforce administrative, physical, and technical safeguards required by HIPAA. Audit role-based access permissions, protect logs detailing Protected Health Information (PHI) interactions, and verify data isolation boundaries.
  • Backup & Business Continuity: Execute and routinely test local disaster recovery and backup runbooks. Collaborate with external contractors to verify offsite immutable backup copies are running effectively.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years of practical system administration experience in a corporate or non-profit Windows environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory, team-lead, or helpdesk manager capacity.
  • Systems Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, NTFS permissions, and central group policy management.
  • Endpoint & Ticketing Toolsets: Direct experience utilizing unified monitoring and ticketing ecosystems; experience with NinjaOne is highly advantageous.
  • Virtualization Familiarity: Functional capability navigating hypervisor management frameworks, specifically Proxmox VE or equivalent enterprise environments (VMware, Hyper-V) for routine provisioning and alerting.
  • Compliance Awareness: Direct understanding of HIPAA frameworks, data handling policies, and secure encryption methods for data at rest and in transit.
  • Communication & Presence: Excellent verbal and technical documentation skills. Must maintain a consistent on-site presence in Grove City, PA to support physical infrastructure and handle immediate team escalation needs.
