Ciklum is looking for a Senior Support Engineer to join our team full-time in Ukraine.

About the role:
As a Senior Support Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. As a Senior Support Engineer, you will deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize solutions across customer environments. You will support platforms that include Linux, Windows Server, SQL Server, Vertica, Hadoop, Kafka, containers, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. This role is customer facing and combines enterprise operations, automation, customer engagement, and incident response. You will act as a technical advisor and escalation point for deployment, upgrade, monitoring, and operational support activities.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain software solutions in customer on-premises data centers and cloud environments
- Support enterprise data platforms, including Vertica, Hadoop, Kafka, SQL Server, and related services
- Use automation and configuration management tools, such as Ansible and related technologies, to improve deployment consistency and operational efficiency
- Perform major and minor upgrades, patch validation, hotfix deployment, release planning, and post-upgrade health checks
- Run daily system health checks, respond to monitoring alerts, analyze logs, and document remediation actions
- Monitor operating systems, SQL Server, Vertica, Hadoop, Docker containers, Kafka, and supporting application services
- Triage incidents by reviewing logs, system events, monitoring data, and application behavior. Escalate complex issues to Tier 3 or engineering teams when needed
- Support backup, restore, and recovery processes for SQL Server, Vertica, Hadoop, and related data services
- Use enterprise ticketing, monitoring, automation, and log platforms such as ServiceNow, Grafana and Blink automation platforms
- Participate in after-hours support and travel to customer sites as needed, approximately 15%
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field

- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise Linux and Windows Server environments, including installation, administration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis
- Experience supporting production enterprise applications in high-availability environments
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or similar providers
- Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, or equivalent platforms
- Working knowledge of enterprise networking and storage concepts, including load balancers, virtual IPs, SAN, NAS, RAID, and backup architectures
- Experience troubleshooting distributed systems using logs, monitoring tools, system events, and operational runbooks
- Understanding backup and restore strategies, including RPO and RTO objectives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly with customers and internal technical teams
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and contribute effectively to a team environment
Desirable:
- Experience supporting Vertica clusters or similar analytical database platforms
- Experience supporting Hadoop distributions such as EMR, Cloudera, or equivalent big data platforms
- Experience supporting Kafka or similar enterprise messaging and streaming platforms
- Experience with infrastructure automation, configuration management, or DevOps practices
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and log management tools such as Splunk, Elastic, Grafana, or similar platforms
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor testing, electronics manufacturing, or analytics environments
