Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the MRI Modality Manager, assists with daily department operations; provides the key contact point for research, ACR accreditation, scanner/injector protocols, department education, and QA. Interacts with radiology and nursing staff, physicians, patients and visitors for issue resolution, customer service, performance improvement and multi-level communication. Works in conjunction with radiologists, physicists and others to explore, develop and test new procedures, guidelines and protocols. Mentors residents and new medical personnel. Demonstrates above average skills with regard to performing routine and advanced diagnostic MRI procedures, recommending changes and improvements. Assists in consolidation and unification of scanning protocols throughout Froedtert Health; preceptor to MRI Tech I & II; EPIC Superuser. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Three years minimum experience as an MRI Technologist is required.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Successful completion of 2 year Rad Tech program in an AMA approved school is required, + 1-2 years, minimum, post secondary education in a related clinical, technical or business field.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Successful completion of cross-sectional anatomy class; on-the-job training (OJT) in new/advanced procedures; inservice instruction to advanced OJT. Advanced EPIC and PACS training required. Completion of formal preceptor training/credentialing.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Communication; teaching ability geared to multiple audience learning levels; computer and programming skills; ability to relate to a variety of people with varying degrees of cognitive skills. EPIC/PACS superuser, preceptor.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology and ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance is required. BCLS certified is required within 3 months of hire.
