Role Summary
As a Technical Writer, you will create clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for CloudFactory's products and internal systems, working closely with product, engineering, and support teams to translate complex technical concepts into accessible content. You will maintain and continuously improve documentation standards and content across the product lifecycle. Responsibilities:
Documentation creation
- Write and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation, including user guides, API documentation, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaboration with subject matter experts
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and support teams to gather information and ensure documentation accurately reflects product functionality.
- Participate in product planning and release discussions to anticipate documentation needs ahead of launch.
Content strategy and standards
- Apply and help maintain documentation style guides and standards, ensuring consistency across all technical content.
- Organize documentation in a logical, easy-to-navigate structure that supports user needs.
Documentation maintenance
- Review and update existing documentation to reflect product changes, ensuring content remains accurate and relevant.
- Identify gaps or outdated content and prioritize updates based on user impact.
Tooling and publishing
- Use documentation tools and platforms, such as Confluence, Markdown, or static site generators, to publish and manage content.
- Support version control and review processes for documentation changes.
Must-have skills (required)
- 2–4 years of experience in technical writing, developer documentation, or a similar role.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Experience working with engineering, product, or support teams to gather technical information.
- Familiarity with documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, or static site generators.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Academic and professional requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice-to-have skills (preferred)
- Experience writing API documentation.
- Familiarity with version control tools, such as Git.
