We are looking for an AFTER SALES ENGINEER in our site in Bologna.

Purpose of the Job The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support on maintenance activities on Railway Signalling Systems ERTMS, IXL, SCMT manufactured by Alstom Transport, Bombardier Transportation and General Electric trasportation operated by the Alstom domestic and international Customers. The role includes the responsibility to manage warranty obligations on the projects in the scope of Alstom.

Position in the Organisation The position will be part of Services Signalling Platform Organisation - Maintenance Team Hierarchical and Functional report to the Signalling Maintenance Manager

Network & Links Internal relationships with other Alstom Functions: System and Product, Application Engineering, Industrialization, Supply Chain departments, Installation, Test & Commissioning. External relationships with Customer infrastructures operators and with maintenance technicians.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities The person will be responsible for: perform log analysis to identify root causes of failure for ERTMS, IXL and SCMT systems and identify corrective actions; remotely guide technicians in executing corrective actions; personally perform corrective actions onsite; implement the "return of experience" process by producing reporting, statistics, etc.; definition and implementation of Maintenance and technical assistance plans; supervision or execution of HW and SW retrofit and upgrade plans; providing technical tranining to customers; provision of support to Service Signalling Platform organization in the definition of maintenance strategy in tenders and offers; cooperation with product engineering in the definition of maintainability requirements during the product’s design phase.

The position includes the availability to perform activities outside of the Bologna Alstom site (25%) and to be part of the team that support by remote H24 the customer maintenance team.

Educational and technical requirements Bachelor/Master degree in Electronics/Electric/Telecommunications Engineering Capability to interpret electric drawings and schemes Knowledge of electronic design principle and methodology Knowledge of the most common operating systems (Linux, Windows, …) Knowledge of the most common net protocols (TCP/IP, …) Capability to use test tools (oscilloscope, wave generator, multimeter, etc…) would be a plus Basic knowledge of railway systems and or transportation systems would be a plus

Languages: Italian: excellent level written and spoken English: good level written and spoken

Competencies and experience requested: Capability of synthesis and related written exposure Capability to perform analysis and to relate information from different contexts Capability to work in team and attitude to problem solving New graduate or one/two years of experience in electronic or electromechanical company Knowledge of on site or remote technical assistance for Electronic/Electromechanical application
