Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines and supporting automation for application builds, releases, deployments, testing, validation, and related delivery activities.
  • Expand effective use of Azure Repos/Git for source control, version management, branching, pull requests, code reviews, tagging, and management of automation and deployable artifacts.
  • Develop reusable Azure Pipelines templates, tasks, scripts, variables, and deployment patterns that can be applied consistently across teams and releases.
  • Design and implement DevSecOps stage gates and quality gates that control progression through build, test, release, and deployment workflows.
  • Configure pipelines to automatically halt or prevent promotion when required automated tests, security checks, validations, or other release criteria fail.
  • Integrate automated functional, regression, integration, and other applicable testing into Azure Pipelines and use test results as automated release and deployment decision points.
  • Integrate security scanning and validation into delivery workflows, including vulnerability scanning, static analysis, dependency or artifact scanning, and other approved DevSecOps controls where applicable.
  • Design automation that connects Azure Pipelines with application configuration-management, migration, testing, security, release-management, and deployment tools.
  • Develop scripts, APIs, service hooks, webhooks, and utilities using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or other appropriate technologies to automate software delivery workflows.
  • Automate repeatable release activities including validation, packaging, approvals, migrations, deployments, notifications, evidence collection, and post-deployment verification.
  • Integrate Azure DevOps Boards with development and release workflows to improve traceability between features, user stories, defects, source changes, pull requests, builds, tests, releases, and deployments.
  • Develop automated updates and notifications that communicate build, test, security, migration, deployment, and release status through ADO and other approved collaboration mechanisms.
  • Use Azure DevOps REST APIs, service hooks, pipeline APIs, and related integration capabilities to connect Boards, Repos, Pipelines, testing tools, security tools, and external delivery platforms.
  • Work with PeopleSoft and release-management teams to integrate Azure Pipelines with PeopleSoft migration and release processes, including PHIRE or comparable configuration-management tools.
  • Develop automation that can initiate, coordinate, monitor, or validate application migrations and deployments through approved release-management interfaces.
  • Build automated checks for release prerequisites, dependencies, artifacts, approvals, configuration, environment readiness, test completion, security validation, and deployment results.
  • Capture and associate automated test results, security results, logs, deployment status, exceptions, and release evidence with appropriate Azure DevOps work items and delivery records.
  • Develop automation supporting artifact creation, versioning, storage, promotion, and deployment across development, test, staging, and production environments.
  • Establish appropriate branching, pull-request, tagging, versioning, approval, and release-management practices for code and automation maintained in Git.
  • Implement logging, error handling, retries, recovery, auditing, and monitoring across automated delivery workflows.
  • Troubleshoot failures across Azure Pipelines, Git repositories, scripts, APIs, test automation, security tools, service connections, deployment tools, authentication, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Partner with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to implement secure service connections, service identities, credentials, secrets management, certificates, network connectivity, and least-privilege access for automated workflows.
  • Identify manual release and deployment activities that can be safely automated while preserving required testing, security, configuration-management, approval, and audit controls.
  • Develop and maintain pipeline documentation, integration specifications, automation standards, deployment procedures, technical diagrams, and operational support guidance.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, backlog refinement, demonstrations, testing, release readiness, and other Agile/SAFe delivery activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of hands-on DevOps, DevSecOps, release automation, software engineering, systems integration, or related experience in complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a mature DevSecOps and CI/CD environment, including governed pipelines, automated testing, security validation, stage gates, approvals, artifact promotion, deployment controls, traceability, and production release processes.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, particularly Azure Repos/Git and Azure Pipelines.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure DevOps solutions that integrate development, testing, security, release, and deployment activities across the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining CI/CD, release, and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience implementing automated stage gates, quality gates, approvals, and pipeline controls that prevent release or deployment when required tests or validations fail.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and using test results to control progression between pipeline stages and environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Git including repositories, branching strategies, pull requests, merges, tagging, versioning, and code-review workflows.
  • Experience developing reusable pipeline templates, scripts, tasks, and automation components.
  • Experience integrating Azure DevOps or comparable DevOps platforms with external applications and delivery tools using REST APIs, service hooks, webhooks, command-line interfaces, or other integration mechanisms.
